We love music! I mean, who doesn’t? Music is a big part of our corporate worship (when we meet together) because it helps us find words to describe God. Psalm 33:3 shows us how music can be used to express our gratitude to God, saying, “Sing to him a new song; play skillfully and shout for joy”. We worship because God is deserving of our praise. We use music and anything we have to offer up praises to Him. God is the King of Kings and is worthy of our love and adoration!

Worship isn’t limited to Tuesday nights at service, you can worship on your own at home! Need a go-to worship playlist? Or maybe you want some songs to add to your existing one? Here are 5 playlists that have been created by some of your leaders to inspire worship and help you draw closer to the presence of God. Click on each playlist name and it will redirect you to the playlist on its respective platform. Feel free to add the playlist to your device or select songs to make your own playlist!

1. “
Chyllz” By Hannah on Apple Music

2. "A Thoughtful Playlist” By Hannah on Apple Music

Hannah made two playlists, both of which are much like her: calm, inviting, and laid back. The songs have a folk, alternative, indie sound. Josh Garrels and Chris Renzma are artists to look out for since they have multiple songs on both playlists.

The “Chllyz”playlist is for your everyday routine. The sound of this playlist may remind you of warm summer days, road tripping and exploring the outdoors. (What we all wish we could be doing). In the meantime, these songs are great for background music while cleaning, reading and whatever your day consists of.

“A Thoughtful playlist” is what Hannah describes as songs you listen to “lying on the floor, staring out the window”. I think it’s safe to say this playlist is right for when you are in your feelings! Jokes aside, there’s a common theme amongst these songs. They speak about what it means to be in the presence of God and how it offers comforts for our souls. God is our rescue, and He will be with us forever!

3. “Jesus Time” by Carina on Spotify

Carina also put together her perfect playlist for spending time with Jesus. After listening to this you will feel like you brought a full worship set into your room! She included her favourite classic Contemporary Christian artists like Chris Tomlin, Hillsong, and Elevation. Some of these songs you may be familiar with and you may end up singing out loud with no shame. With songs like Good Good Father, Remembrance, and Psalm 42, this playlist is great for reflecting on what God means to us.

4. “Worship Playlist” By Eboni on Spotify

Eboni’s worship playlist is a good mix of contemporary and Gospel music. Some of the stand out artists to look for in this playlist are Isabel Davis, Brian Courtney Wilson, and Isaiah Templeton. And of course, a lot of classic Hillsong favourites that you might have forgotten about like Mighty to Save, Here I am to Worship, and At the Cross. These songs will have you feeling like you went to your auntie’s church in the best way possible. You will want to get up and dance, sing, and maybe praise break.

5. “Hendrick’s Worship Playlist LifeLine” By Hendrick on Spotify

Hendrick’s playlist contains a variety of artists from the contemporary genre. Look out for Mosaic, Leeland, and Housefires. Within the last few years, we’ve seen a rise in individual churches releasing their own albums and we are here for it! This playlist is diverse enough for any mood. The lyrics in these songs are beautiful praises to God about who He is.

__

Let your worship be a reflection of who God made you to be. As you can tell these playlists reflect each person’s individual personality and style. There is diversity in the kingdom of God and we are loving that worship music can reflect that. Let your worship be YOUR worship. Praise God in the best way you know how. Let these playlists be a guide for helping you draw into the presence God.
