The Beauty of the Blurry Shots

At LifeLine, we love the blurry shots. These were taken as we setup for service, shot on film and they’re not perfect. And there’s something beautiful about that because life is not perfect. Things aren’t always crispy. And neither are we. Much of life is messy. Out of focus. And when we get the shots developed it seems like a loss or a failure. But there’s beauty in the imperfection because in it we see the attempt. The big swings. Trying again and again.

If you, like these shots, feel imperfect - Welcome to the table. Because we’re all trying and learning and failing forward at times. Church isn’t for the perfect, thank God. Jesus Himself said He came for those who know they’re sick instead of those who think they’re healthy.

So let’s admit the mistakes. Be honest about the blurry moments, and grow into focus together. Christ sees the mess and chooses you nonetheless. And that right there is good news.
